WE ARE STILL HERE!

Hello All –

It’s been awhile since our last post. The past few weeks have been good. I got married and went on our honeymoon to the Bahamas and got back this week.

Lorna is doing better. I am proud of her! She now sleeps on the side of our bed because the day BEFORE OUR WEDDING, Lorna slept on her side wrong and tried to jump off the bed and ended up hurting herself. (we have a high bed) and then Lorna couldn’t walk for 10-15 mins.

We ended up going to the Vet for an emergency visit. The vet said she may have pitched a nerve or something like that. 🙁

This August 2 will be her TWO MONTH post amputation. Whats in the back of my mind is the Vet said 3-6 months (For survival) with no Chemo. We didn’t do Chemo (we couldn’t afford it) so we need to go to the Vet for some X-rays in a few weeks.

Anyone out there known of other owners only getting 3-6 months?

Overall we are doing great!  I’ll send pictures soon

  1. congrats on your wedding – glad lorna is doing well too. don’t dwell on those ‘nostradamus numbers’ the vets give. it’s all statistics and it’s all subjective. just keep enjoying each and every moment of each and every day!!

  2. Best wishes for a wonderful marriage, yay for you guys 🙂 I agree with etgayle, it is all just statistics and there are dogs who didn’t do any chemo, living years, dogs who did who lived just a few short months. Steel yourself for the visit, pray and think great thoughts, and whatever shows or doesn’t, celebrate your time with her.

  3. Yay for Lorna! Bo’s surgery was on May 31st of this year, but since not all months have 31 days, we are going to celebrate on the first of each month.

Maybe since Bo and Lorna’s dates are so close together, they could be ampuversary buddies or something?!

    Congrats on your marriage!!

  4. Congrats on the wedding! Don’t think about the numbers. We were told that Chili Dawg only has 4 months without chemo, and we can’t afford it either. Well, his 3 month ampuversary is coming up soon, and he is doing well. With all the info I’ve been reading they can’t really tell you how long you have, so just enjoy every day you have together 🙂
